Qualmet began as a solution to a business problem our Founder, Mark Smolik, addressed as in-house counsel with some of the world’s largest law departments. Mark saw the need for law departments to shift from an overhead, cost center driven mindset to one focused on running the department like a business, delivering meaningful measurable, and sustainable value.
Recognizing you cannot effectively manage what you do not measure, Mark began implementing qualitative performance reviews of his external law firms and service providers. The results have been remarkable leading to significant service level improvements at total lower costs.
The Qualmet Platform
The Qualmet Performance Management and Evaluation System was built in collaboration with many of the world’s leading law firms and corporate law departments. That collaboration led to the creation of the first of its kind system giving access to performance reviews and unique reports that score results into meaningful data allowing quick comparisons of teams or vendors. The system is fully configurable for both in-house counsel to measure their vendor relationships as well as outside counsel to measure client satisfaction.
Qualmet launched Version 2.0 of its performance evaluation platform with plans to expand the platform into a full 360-degree client and vendor management solution enabling full performance reviews to be completed by both parties in the relationship. Relationships can now be monitored year-round to ensure both sides are getting the most from each other and building upon a strong understanding that performance, satisfaction, and value matter.
